Mother’s Day SG60 Celebration

MOTHER’S DAY SG60 CELEBRATION ABOUT INITIATIVE As we celebrate Mother’s Day 2025 this year, Quan Mei proudly continues our annual tradition – now honoring mothers, caregivers as well as Singapore’s SG60 milestone, just as we did previously during SG50 in 2015. This year’s celebration saw a remarkable coming together of community partners and volunteers from Quan Mei, Hyper 21 Enterprises, D&J Project Management, Radin Mas CC, BOSS Group, St. Luke’s Eldercare (Telok Blangah), NTUC Health Active Ageing Centres (Telok Blangah & Redhill), Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei), Sarah Active Ageing Centre, Yong En Active Hub, Bukit Purmei Zone A RN Centre, and Blossom Seeds, handcrafting a total of 3000 carnation flowers. Adding special warmth to this year’s initiative, Radin Mas WEC contributed 600 handmade crocheted coasters that were distributed together with the handmade flowers to residents across Radin Mas and Redhill – a heartfelt touch to celebrate this meaningful occasion. Beyond the celebrations for Mother’s Day and SG60, this initiative saw another meaningful movement. Out of 3000 carnation flowers, 1500 were under BOSS Group where the contributions were used to help support and empower vital organizations such as MINDS, METTA, AWWA and Blossom Seeds to expand their reach and deepen their impact. In addition, the initiative helps provide opportunities for the elderly from the participating volunteer organizations mentioned previously to stay active and engaged, fostering intergenerational connections. THE PROCESS For this year’s initiative, Quan Mei along with our associates, Hyper 21 Enterprises and D&J Project Management played a key role in coordinating various elements for the event. This included the ordering and distributing of materials to the various participating volunteer organizations, organizing flower making workshops to teach volunteers as well as the collection of completed flowers for the SG60 formation and distribution for Mother’s day on 11th May in the Radin Mas area. In total, 3000 carnation flowers were made across the volunteers organizations and 600 were used for the SG60 heart formation. Following the collection and distribution of flowers to the respective areas, Quan Mei, Hyper 21 Enterprises, and D&J Project Management joined forces under the leadership of Quan Mei’s senior interior designer to assemble the SG60 installation. With support from valued industry partners, who helped with constructing the foundational structure beforehand, the process of setting up was made easier. Before placing the flowers and coasters, the SG60 heart was elevated at an angle and the layout was then meticulously marked to accommodate 600 carnation flowers and 600 crocheted coasters (packaged in clear balls) – creating a visually striking tribute. Mothers’ Day SG50 Celebration

MOTHER’S DAY SG50 CELEBRATION ABOUT INITIATIVE In 2015, as part of Singapore’s SG50 and Mother’s Day celebrations, Quan Mei along with various organizations and Radin Mas CC volunteers in a collaborative community project. Together, volunteers handcrafted flowers from provided materials to assemble them into a giant heart installation with the words ‘I ♥️ MUM’ and ‘SG50’ engraved into the giant heart.  This vibrant symbol reflected both gratitude for mothers and pride in Singapore’s 50-year journey, showcasing the power of collective effort. The project stood as a testament to how community partnerships can create meaningful celebrations that honor both our nation’s milestones and the important role of mothers in society. THE PROCESS The initiative began with Radin Mas CC spearheading the project by funding and procuring all necessary materials. Quan Mei played a supporting role in the logistical coordination, helping to distribute these materials to various participating organizations and volunteer groups. This ensured all teams were equipped to contribute to the large-scale art installation. Quan Mei worked alongside volunteers by actively participating in handcrafting the flowers, and participating in workshops to teach crafting techniques to community volunteers. These sessions not only created the needed components but also fostered meaningful engagement. Once completed, all flowers were carefully gathered and transported to Radin Mas CC in preparation for the final assembly. At Radin Mas CC, Quan Mei joined volunteers in the meticulous process of assembling the individual flowers into a unified giant heart installation. Piece by piece, the symbol took shape, representing both appreciation for mothers and pride in Singapore’s 50th anniversary. The project culminated in a special community event where this collaborative artwork served as the centerpiece, celebrating the dual milestones through the collective effort of all partners involved. Radin Mas Bed Distribution

RADIN MAS BED DISTRIBUTION ABOUT INITIATIVE The Radin Mas Bed Distribution is a meaningful initiative under Project Sayang, in collaboration with Project Refresh, aimed at providing essential bedding items to low-income families. This effort brought together a diverse group of volunteers, organizations including Quan Mei as well as community partners from Radin Mas CC and the People’s Association. Together, they distributed critical bedding essentials,  to residents in need. The distribution spanned several days and successfully delivered bed frames and mattresses to about 550 low-income families in the Redhill-Radin Mas constituency. This initiative not only addressed immediate needs but also contributed to improving the living conditions and well-being of the beneficiaries. THE PROCESS The distribution process began with volunteers packing and allocating bed frames and mattresses to various areas within the Redhill-Radin Mas constituency at a central holding area. From there, volunteer organizations split up to cover their assigned zones, gathering the allocated items and transporting them to the respective blocks. Teams then delivered the bedding essentials directly to residents’ units, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. This hands-on approach allowed volunteers to connect with the community while providing much-needed support to low-income families. In some cases, volunteers went the extra mile by helping to dismantle existing or old bed frames to make space for the new ones being delivered. This additional effort ensured that residents could seamlessly transition to their new bedding essentials, further enhancing their comfort and living conditions. Their dedication and attention to detail highlighted the commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the beneficiaries. The video below provides an insightful look into the Radin Mas Bed Distribution, which took place from December 2020 to January 2021 during the challenging COVID-19 period. It captures the process and the dedicated efforts of volunteers delivering these essential items directly to residents’ units. The video also highlights the collaborative spirit of the initiative, showcasing how volunteers worked tirelessly to support low-income families in the Redhill-Radin Mas constituency. https://www.quanmei.com.sg/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Radin-Mas-Bed-Distribution.mp4 SPECIAL AWARDS At the end of the initiative, various organizations including Quan Mei and our associate company, Hyper21, who have participated and contributed were recognized and awarded for their outstanding contributions and efforts throughout this meaningful initiative. Their commitment to the community and dedication to improving the lives of residents truly stood out, making a lasting impact during a difficult time. This initiative not only provided essential bedding to those in need but also demonstrated the power of teamwork, compassion, and community spirit in overcoming challenges together. Furniture Donation to Radin Mas

FURINITURE DONATION TO RADIN MAS ABOUT INITIATIVE During a project collaboration with our client, Wild Honey, and project partners Rockett and Light Collab, they proposed an innovative approach to sustainability: recycling and upcycling furniture and decor from the previous location for use in the new location. Items such as wall beadings, chandeliers, furniture, and flooring were carefully repurposed, reducing waste and preserving resources. Upon completing the project, we were left with several high-quality, gently used furniture pieces that were no longer needed. Instead of discarding them, our team at Quan Mei recognized an opportunity to extend their lifecycle in alignment with Project E3: Ecocycle, Ecoshare, Ecolove—an ongoing sustainability initiative that promotes recycling, repurposing, and supporting communities in need. We reached out to Radin Mas Community Centre (CC) with a proposal to donate the furniture, ensuring these items could continue serving a meaningful purpose. The donation helped transform a section of the community centre into a cozy, inviting lounge—a shared space where residents and visitors could gather, socialize, and relax. By giving these pieces a second life, we not only enhanced a community space but also reinforced our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. This initiative reflects Quan Mei’s dedication to environmental stewardship, proving that thoughtful actions can create lasting benefits for both people and the planet.
