Furniture Donation to Radin Mas

FURINITURE DONATION TO RADIN MAS ABOUT INITIATIVE During a project collaboration with our client, Wild Honey, and project partners Rockett and Light Collab, they proposed an innovative approach to sustainability: recycling and upcycling furniture and decor from the previous location for use in the new space. Items such as wall beadings, chandeliers, furniture, and flooring were carefully repurposed, reducing waste and preserving resources. Upon completing the initiative, some leftover furniture, still in excellent condition, remained. Our team at Quan Mei suggested donating these pieces to the Radin Mas Community Centre. The donation aimed to create a welcoming lounge where residents and visitors can relax and unwind, enhancing the community’s social space and promoting environmental responsibility. Metta Recycled Tote Bags

METTA RECYCLED TOTE BAGS ABOUT INITIATIVE In preparation for Quan Mei’s 40th Anniversary celebration,  Quan Mei Design & Construction Pte Ltd partnered with Metta Welfare Association and community partners from Radin Mas Community Centre for a special project: the creation of recycled tote bags.  These unique tote bags, crafted through collaboration with Metta individuals and community partners, as well as Speco were used as gift tote bags along with specially prepared gifts to express our heartfelt appreciation to clients, associates, and partners during the celebration event. This project stemmed from an initiative created by Quan Mei, called Project E3: Ecocycle, Ecoshare, Ecolove. The initiative promotes sustainability by recycling and repurposing old furniture while supporting those in need. As part of this initiative, Quan Mei collected various items such as furniture, curtains, and bedding from sources such as our project clients, the community, and more. In this case, bedding was collected from a hospitality project client. Inspired by the idea of recycling, it was proposed that bedding be transformed into tote bags. To bring this vision to life, Quan Mei partnered with the Metta Welfare Association, community partners, and Speco, who disinfected the materials. Metta and the community partners then took on the main role of crafting the tote bags featuring batik handles, contributing their skills to the success of this meaningful project. THE PROCESS After collecting the bedding from our clients, the bedding was checked and sorted into piles which were then disinfected by Speco using their award-winning antimicrobial technology. After the disinfection process, Metta individuals and community partners took charge of the cutting process as well as the sewing of the tote bag along with beautiful batik-designed handles. After the bags were completed, the Quan Mei 40th Anniversary logo design was printed onto the bags and packed, ready for use.
